I also haven't come across problems caused by non-ASCII characters
in code. But that's largely because (nearly) none of the code I've
dealt with has used non-ASCII characters.
The question is, do non-ASCII characters (other than, for example,
accented letters supported on regional keyboards) cause problems
in practice *when they're used*?
