It's (nearly) the third decade of the 21st century. I take that remark
as a rebuke to our profession, but also as a prompt to do better.
You should name and shame your posting software (unless you have
deliberately configured it to mess up such a well-known character
encoding). I hope there is at least an outstanding bug report against
it. Of course you may have very good reasons to use old and
unmaintained (or even unmaintainable) software, but people should still
know it can't cope with UTF-8.
