Never thought about the pronunciation--I wonder of I sound like a 
dunce--would be a shame because I met the man* that invented the 
algorithm--attended several engineering-grade lectures on how it worked 
(in a magnetic tape context).

I pronounce it as if it were spelled like ersatz peanut-butter-like 
product is.

*old age has robbed me of the ability to remember his name--vestigial 
(and likely wrong) memory says it started with an "L" and looked 
"Northern European".
