An interpretation is an assignment of meaning to the
[non-logical] symbols of a formal language.

In the same way that a cat is an animal is neither true nor false in
mathematics because mathematics does not know about biology
∀x ∀y (x + y = y + x) is neither true nor false in Q because Q does not
know about the commutativity of addition.
