Don't know wget but if it is a VMS thing might be a problem.

Probably easier if the VMS box is the client, actually except for things
like versions.

That implies copying to another VMS box.  I currently have none available
as this is the last one here at the University and most of my home stuff
is still packed up from my mobilization in 2009.

Yeah, that's the other problem.  Some of them may loose their value
if attributes are not retained.  but at least all of my source files
will survive, if I can move them.
