Claws seems to me to be the least worst option for e-mail
under Windows. Given that I only do e-mail under Windows
when away from the office for ome length of time, I did not
want to use paid for software.

It is much less unpleasant than Thunderbird, IMO, but, apart
from the fact that it displays all the 'wonderful' flashy
HTML stuff in e-mail without any problems, it is not a patch
on Pluto. It cannot even import Pluto's address book, which
can be exported easily as a CSV file.
