Nope. It means that that the Google Groups web user interface is
changing to a new (but IMO not improved) version. This is to ensure that
Google Groups looks like every other Google service. Oh, that and to
encourage you to use Google+ as your main source of information.

The New Look Google interfaces need a very modern browser and consume
CPU cycles like a hungry polar bear at lunchtime in a seal colony. The
Gmail version of the New Look was unpleasant and slow over here so I
ditched it. The same UI changes, and the way Google ignored genuine,
well expressed concerns over New Look in general, made me move my
Blogspot hosted blog to a local Wordpress blog on my own webspace.

If you are interested in retaining you sanity, I suggest you set up a
half decent news reader client and download your "acorn" newsgroups. The
exception to this will be the Select Google Group which is only
available via the Google Groups new web interface.
