After posting I realised that what I was thinkimg of was an
NG dedicated to the particular ISP. Argonet had them,
Orpheus had them, PlusNet, AFAIK still has them.

So you simply subscribe to goodisp.announce, or whatever it
is called. Perhaps with a weekly posting, which, if there
has been anything that might have been mentioned on a status
page could carry the same info.

Simples.
