I did this about four or five years ago, in order to
transfer a domain *to* PurleyHosting. The original registrar
was what Nominet describe as "unwilling to assist".

I was very straightforward, Nominet people I spoke to on the
phone were very helpful, and Nominet charged a lot less than
the original registrar would have charged, had they been
prepared to be helpful.

I hope PurleyHosting does come back up, as transfering five
or six domains would be a pain. They actually host seven for
me, I think, but I had already decided not to renew one of
them, and another was going to be being run down next year.
