Stimmt nicht so ganz.

Zum Einen ist es richtig, daß man rotierenden Rost nicht beliebig weich
lagern darf, weil ansonsten jede Kopfbewegung auch zu einer
entgegengesetzten Bewegung des Laufwerksgehäuses führt. Entsprechend
langsamer ist dann jeder Zugriff, weil die Plattenoberfläche sich zu
sehr bewegt.

Zum Anderen ist es auch richtig, daß man rotierenden Rost nicht hart
befestigen darf, weil sich sonst jede Vibration des Käfigs auf das
Laufwerksgehäuse überträgt. Dies insbesondere, wenn man mehrere
Laufwerke in einem Kasten betriebt.

Deswegen werden Laufwerke *immer* mit Gummipuffern befestigt, die
gewissen Spezifikationen unterliegen: nicht zu weich, aber auch nicht zu
hart.
