Wenn du nach 5 Jahren neu kaufst, anstatt das alte System 10 Jahre zu 
benutzen, hat voraussichtlich das neue System mehr Funktionen, ist 
schneller, hat den geringereren Energiebedarf.

Angesichts der (ganz grob) exponentiellen Entwicklung der 
Rechnergeschwindigkeit über die Zeit, und der überexponentiellen 
Entwicklung des Preises im leistungstechnischen Grenzbereich, wohl 
allenfalls einen Umzug. Man kann auch so kaufen, daß Erweiterbarkeit 
gegeben ist, insbesondere beim RAM. Gerade im letzten Jahrzehnt ging mit 
Erweiterung recht viel - mehr RAM, mehr CPU-Kerne, SSD statt Dreheisen - 
so daß die alternde Infrastruktur auf dem Mainboard nicht allzu stark 
ins Gewicht fiel.

Versteh ich nicht. Binärkompatibilität sollte doch wohl gegeben sein? 
Und selbst wenn nicht, wird neukompilieren auf dem neuen Rechner schnell 
gehen.
