They don't announce things and /then/ start working on them. Apple have 
been working on upcoming models since well before the previous models 
were released (or even the ones before that were released) - they have 
plans for years ahead, although obviously those plans do change.

A new-design iMac could easily be released this year ... not that there 
will actually be one. The iMac will almost certainly basically retain 
its current form, and the "iMac Pro" will simply be a high-end version 
that is faster CPU, better graphics, etc.
