If you click "erase" you are given a button that says "Security Options".
Really should be "Security Option" because it offers only one. :)

Anyway, that one is how secure do you want the erasure, from "Fastest" to
"Most Secure": overwriting 0, 2, 3, or 7 times.

I do not see an Erase Free Space option.
