No, it is not "perfectly valid". It is usually strongly advised to *not* use control characters in file names. And since you can even create it very simple via keyboard, it is far from "impossible" It may be for some dimbulbs (that would certainly include you) who can barely use a computer via GUI, but not every computer user is so severly limited
