Guy who really taught me how to write code that customers would pay for, 
said 'simple. clean, easily understood, boring workmanlike code'.

No one wants elegance or obscurity, they just want it to work. And be 
fixable.

The number of times I have simply thrown away what came before as 
rewriting was quicker than patching someone elses incomprehesnible mess.
