Add two other people both some love to hate, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

Both had particularly bold thinking which pushed the concept of personal 
computers forward. (they both became rich and they both made a lot 
people very rich.)

Jobs -- Steve Jobs was a true visionary that saw the future of personal 
computers as an appliance long before anyone saw them as anything more 
than private ownership of a scientific computing machine.

The release of the apple][ was a glimpse of his vision. He spent more
on the mold design and tooling than apple did on engineering at the
time.

Gates -- Love him or hate him (Charlie you can skip this part :) Gates 
did two things. 1) He recognized that personal computing support could 
be a business and he set the bar high enough so the second tier 
development houses could develop new ideas and make a living from their 
efforts. 2) Early on he took some major business risks in at the time 
was a very small industry. He standardized an evolving operating system 
that evolved with the industry and technology (I know the same is 
claimed with *nix)

I ran one of our compilers a few days ago on Windows 10 that was 
compiled in 1991 to run on MSDOS. (Ran the 1991 executable on a 7 inch
windows tablet no less)

Both Jobs and Gates did things that set standards of computer usage
that have been widely copied by the open source folks. Both brought
innovation to the industry and indirectly encouraged innovation
technical and financial investment by thinking out of the box.
Both Mircosoft and apple are littered with company threatening failures
of ideas tried and failed.

For that reason I believe they should be included in this list.
