Most companies will not accept anything as an essential tool until they've first gotten comfortable doing non-essential things with it. That's the way languages like Ruby, Python, etc. found their way into companies, as convenient replacements for throwaway shell scripts, etc. Once the comfort level built up, they started being used for more critical purpsoes. But, for non-essential purposes, getting management to sign off on $500 expenditures isn't necessarily easy. So there's a bit of cyclic dependency going on. SwiftForth's evaluation version probably helps, but not as much as building up a bunch of experience and deployments in a company before doing anything important.
