Are you suggesting that setting the effective type of an object might affect the arrayness of some region of memory? I don't see any reason to suppose that it does. And changing the effective type of an object certainly has no effect on what sizeof does. (I found it amusing that you casually refer to storing an array value without pointing out the barriers to accomplishing that in C. But that has no bearing on my above comments.)
