What does "abstract machine" mean exactly? What is the "observable behaviour"
of the "abstract machine"? I don't expect the answer, it just terms relying on
another terms...

I see UB as a feature that compiler can silently change the behavior of a
detected error. C now can do things in back (in the name of optimization)!

There are lots cases arithmetic ops can overflow. Library codes need to check
them all. That leads to that any function should do the same if it want to be
reusable.
