I think that perhaps Eric Coleman thought you were talking about a need to 
mark all instances of specific words or phrases in a document as hidden. 
That's certainly what I thought you were talking about, and that would 
definitely require a method which iterates through the rtf file looking for 
each occurrence of the specific word or phrase and individually marking them 
as hidden. However, it appears that is not what you actually want and it 
seems that you have a file in which specific words or phrases are already 
marked as hidden, or that you already have your own method of marking them 
so, or that you are doing so manually as you edit the document, and what you 
really want is to discover the richedit control's method of actually 
displaying or not displaying those 'already marked as hidden' words or 
phrases, which of course certainly can be done with a single switch and 
WHICH does not require iteration since it is merely an instruction as to how 
the control should behave when drawing the output. So it looks like we were 
both talking about different things.
