Yeah, me too. Mate of mine has had a couple infected and he does
a hell of a lot less beer than me, buys a lot more than I do. I don't
by any commercial beer at all anymore and only get a few given
to me in exchange for work done or when one other mate has
borrowed some of mine and replaced it with commercial beer.

Its not at all clear how he managed to get two infected.
He generally sterilises the brewing barrels etc. I don't,
I do clean them very carefully and don't leave them
open to the elements when not using them for brewing.

I haven't. But mine are washed in the dishwasher
both the stubbies and the long necks.

I obviously don't do the PETs in the dishwasher but
I don't actually use those anymore, mainly because
its more work washing them by hand and I did get
a few batches that never did pressurise properly. Never
got that with either the stubbys of the long necks.

Yeah, I'm now well over 200 batches.

I do both now that I got off my arse and cleaned
the massive great pile of long necks I got from
a garage sale. They had been used for tomato
sauce and about half of them hadn't been washed
properly once the sauce had be used. Massive
job to clean them because the dishwasher doesn't
clear long necks well enough with them that filthy.

Yeah, but I'm home most of the time and have
about a third in stubbys by volume so its no big
deal to use which is most suitable at the time.

The long necks are a bit more convenient crates
wise. I have about a third in soft drink crates and
the other two thirds of the long necks in milk crates.

The stubbies are in Kitab plastic boxes which don't
work quite as well. They don't stack quite as well
when full of full stubbies.

I've just got a stack of smaller than the normal
cube shaped milk crates from a garage sale.
About half the height of a normal milk crate
with a very plastic spiky bottom that you have
to have a masonite sheet on top of. Haven't
used them yet except to check that the stubbies
do fit properly. Much better than normal milk
crates for stubbies. Normal milk crates have too
much wasted space about the top of the stubby.

I don't do that, just use those taps on the barrels
that are well up from the bottom of the barrel.
