    I meant it works in the sense that people assume there's
some value there. George Ruch jumped in to push Notepad++
as a free way to get what's provided in paid Notepad.

   As I understand it, one can't buy credits. Rather, the more you
spend renting MS software, the more uses of Copilot you get.
To use it regularly you need a "Pro" account. So I suppose we
could say that credits in non-pro MS 365 rental amount to a
marketing ploy.

   Yes, but you probably also refuse to pay extra for a
chocolate chip cookie dough latte. Some people are
just plain cranky. :)
