  FWIW, I don't have your specific problem, but a similar one.

  Mine is not with the Background (of the Desktop) and not with its
Slideshow setting, but with the Lock screen and its Windows spotlight
setting.

  Sometimes, when I wake the system (laptop), the Lock screen is all
black (except for the time and date), instead of showing a Windows
spotlight picture. The next time, the problem is mostly gone, but
sometimes repeats for a couple of times.

  So my 'problem' is similar to yours, just in a slightly different
environment.

  AFAICT, it started some time ago. Last update cycle? Or the one
before?
