Bluetooth devices here are for "emergency networking".

I send small files between machines with Bluetooth.
And especially when File Sharing is not working.

But normally, in non-emergency conditions, the Bluetooth nano
transceivers are unplugged. One is on the end of an extension
cable, to place it so it has line-of-sight with its mate.
The extension cable is unplugged at the moment.

I try to avoid showing up in any neighbors "Network Neighborhood".
that's why I have a general policy of radio silence, unless a
radio is temporarily needed. My next door neighbor is a psychopath,
which is why I have the policy.

State of any associated service ? Not modified.

The Connected Device Platform, has a 200 page spec associated with it.
One user claims it runs while he is online gaming, which hints that
the game uses the protocol for some reason. And the service managed
to chalk up 180GB worth of bandwidth (must have been a long game :-) ).

But this is how you keep software on computers. You create a "mesh" of
dependencies, the "bread box" service affects MyPhone and MSTeams
so the bread box service "must keep running". I think you can see
the attraction of this.

At one time, Apple iTunes for Windows, it contained four or more .msi files.
At that time, the .msi were "independent" of one another. This might
allow you to not install the Bonjour service. Well, that did not last.
Apple determined that people were taking the installer apart and
installing selected bits of it. So, Apple switched to the "mesh model",
such that nothing works, unless all four are installed. You know, the
way the good lord intended. Fuck the users. I only know this, from
experimenting with iTunes to help people -- I had no particular
personal interest in the health of iTunes, but people kept having
their own personal issues with it, so I'd download a copy and
play with it a bit. I have a Mac with iTunes on it, and... I
never used iTunes on there either.

With regard to services, the fun begins when the listed
dependencies are wrong, and one of the dependencies is missing.
There is a situation like that with AudioEndpoint that causes
the speakers to stop working.
