My point was addressing mulitple users in a small business or consumer preferring or needing Office, where economics indicate a single sharable subscription license even with an annual subscription can be more cost effective than multiple users purchasing single license, single use. M365 Family shared with 5 others(6 total users, anyone anywhere in the same country - family, coworkers in the same business) can be more economical than 6 people purchasing stand alone versions. 1. For 6 users - 5 yrs of subscription $500 => $83 per person or $17/yr vs. 2. For 6 users - 6 stand-alone Office Home used for 5 yrs $900 => $150 per person, $30 per year. #1 Never goes out of support, the end of support date increases every 3 yrs(the release cycle time for M365-Office), stand-alone support ends at 5 yrs The lower cost per user break-even point in the above is the 9th yr. At that point in time, the perpetual(e.g. stand-alone Office 2024) purchased will have been out of support for at least 4 yrs. Prediction<g> - at time time Newyana2 will still be complaining about end-of-support for an earlier soon to be non-supported o/s and recommmending to buy an older no longer supported or soon to be no longer supported version. And if Office is needed or desired, online connected is a given for installation, retaining activation, and full feature use. -- ...w¡ñ§±¤ñ
