I don't notice any battery drain. At the end of the day, total battery
usage was about 1/3, same as before.

AFTER infection, and they need ask for permission at that point. You can
refuse.

It is correct, at least the app we have in Spain does not track
location. It just happens that the BT "proximity" belongs to the
"location permission" set, because BT can be used to track location
inside buildings by identifying which fixed BT emitters are nearby
inside that building. But the google API does not give the location data
to the app. Which is confusing.
