The thing is that some people here have presented very strong, even outright antagonistic opposition, sometimes even to the point of complete irrationality, for such a non-controversial view that I presented. Also, time and again some people keep saying that I am making a particular claim, no matter how many times I repeat that I am not making that claim. I refute the assertion again and again, in excruciating detail, yet people keep making the assertion over and over. No matter how many times I repeat that the assertion is false, they still keep making it (in particular, about what I have said about the length of identifier names). I think you would understand why I have gotten frustrated. People are free to disagree with what I said, but when they do not present any arguments that I find convincing, shouldn't I likewise be free to disagree with them? Why am I treated like some kind of asshole because I do not agree with their counter-arguments? When I say that I am not convinced, I'm treated like I were somehow arrogant. In other words, everybody else is completely free to disagree with me, and that's not arrogance, but when I disagree with them, I am arrogant. And all this for such a non-controversial statements, which are quite widely agreed upon by a good portion of the programming industry, including big corporations. It just makes no sense.
