Because I said that using full English names in variable names makes code more readable. That's it. There's absolutely nothing controversial about that statement (and you can find it in lots of coding guidelines out there), and yet it makes people so mad that a huge flamewar ensues. And nobody seems to be able to even explain why. Why are people acting like this? I cannot understand. It's just completely insane. It makes absolutely no sense.
