This is completely useless wasting of time of the reader for no benefit. In addition, when the code is full of cryptic acronyms, it becomes harder to read because it's just a big bunch of random-looking characters instead of clear English words. If the variable is named "test_point_right" I can see all of its uses in the code quite clearly with a quick visual scan. If it's named "tpr" I cannot, especially when it's mixed with other acronyms like "tpl" and similar, plus a bunch of C++ syntax, all highly compressed into a small space full of letters and non-ascii characters. There's literally no reason to prefer "tpr" over "test_point_right". There are no benefits of any kind, there are only drawbacks.
