Meine Gaming-Zeiten liegen hinter mir, und daher "halten" PCs
bei mir inzwischen ohne Quälerei mühelos ein Jahrzehnt oder
sogar länger, wenn einem nicht OS-Anbieter einen Strich durch
die Rechnung machen, weil plötzlich Hardware-Unterstützung
gestrichen wird. Neue PC-Hardware bringt aber einfach kaum
noch Vorteile, wenn man nicht spezielle Anwendungen hat.

Die Dinger sind ausentwickelt für den typischen "Büro"-Bedarf.
Da passiert einfach nichts mehr. Man braucht auch nicht mehr
RAM oder Storage.

Ich kaufe dann alle Jubeljahre gezwungenermaßen irgendwas
Neues, und außer dass es mich Geld kostet und ich Lebenszeit
für die Migration opfere, habe ich im Alltag keinen Vorteil.

Deswegen finde ich es befremdlich, wenn nun ausgerechnet
in einer Zeit, wo PCs echt lange noch gut sind, plötzlich
mit einer Selbstverständlichkeit gesagt wird, dass eine
zentrale Komponente wie der Storage prinzipbedingt immer
kurzlebiger wird. Nein, das ist Mist. Das ist nicht gut.

Kann man inzwischen ebenso auf Smartphones oder Autos
anwenden. Alle reden von Umwelt, Klimakatastrophe usw.
Aber in Wahrheit treiben wir die Wegwerf-Gesellschaft
sogar immer extremer voran.
