The problem here is NOT that Windows has slow console printing. All language/all apps will share that problem. The problem is that gcc and clang are N times slower than that, where N is the average length of the string that printf ends up outputting. There are workarounds but, out-of-the-box, that is what those products do on their Windows installations. (Note that Clang has a more official Windows binary download site than gcc, but it is just as slow. Maybe it is just trying to be compatible.)
