  Yes, I know. It was a sarcastic sting in the face of a continued
display of ignorance (as in: lack of knowledge).

  Thanks for that. Yes, cumulative makes much more sense.

  And of those older people who do have a smartphone, a large proportion
may be too old (older than Android 6) to be able to install/use the apps.

  I happened to need to upgrade my phone for other reasons, so I (and
SWMBO) have  a nice 'shiny' compatible one! :-)
