Puoi fare ancora meglio :)

Il problema sta nel SYSLOGIN.COM di base fornito con il sistema. A un certo 
punto c'è una routine che in base al tipo di terminale decide se interrogarlo 
o meno per ottenerne le caratteristiche e regolarsi di conseguenza. Per vari 
motivi i terminali telnet sono esclusi dalla faccenda e questo oggi causa 
diversi problemi.

La lista dei terminali esclusi è nella variabile TT_NOINQUIR, bisogna togliere 
dalla lista quanto meno i terminali di tipo TN. Dopodiché poco sotto cerca di 
conservare la dimensione originale della "pagina" del terminale mentre imposta 
le caratteristiche rilevate automaticamente, ma anche questo oggi ha i suoi 
lati negativi. Io semplicemente sostituisco l'istruzione SET TERMINAL proposta 
con una più pratica SET TERMINAL/INQUIRE/INSERT/EIGHT_BIT che si preoccupa 
anche di impostare il modo inserimento (anziché sovrascrittura).
