[ etc etc etc ] You really should look at the manual, particularly the sample code starting around page 200. The PL/I compiler was pretty impressive in a dancing pig sort of way, but I would not want to try array indexing where the index was stored in decimal and the machine had no CVB or CVD instruction. One thing that might have made it reasonable to write PL/I programs is that it did support the faux ISAM that the 20's DPS provided on its fixed block disks.
