That is correct.

And if you look at these languages, they have a variety of different
approaches to types.

One solution does not fit all needs, and one type system is not optimal
for all uses.  So different languages have different requirements,
different emphases, and different solutions.  The fact that Go is
different from Java does not mean that Java is a "problem" - it merely
means it is different.  It will be better in some aspects, and less good
in other aspects - better for some kinds of programming, less good for
other kinds.

And the same applies to C and other languages.
