  It seems that nospam doesn't quite realize what "prepaid" means or can
mean in our part of the world and in many (most?) parts of the world.

  For us, it just means that you put an amount of credit (in money) 'on'
your SIM and then us that credit as you see fit. I.e. you only 'pay'
(from your credit) if you actually use the service (call, text, data).

 I just checked the (US) T-Mobile site he pointed to and there even a
prepaid 'plan' is still X$/month. So in this case, "prepaid" means
exactly that, i.e. you pay beforehand instead of afterwards, but you
still pay some amount per month.

<https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/prepaid/marketing/prepaid-plans>

  In contrast, 'we' don't pay anything per month (unless we choose to).
We don't pay anything for non-use besides perhaps a certain minimal use
or recharge per (half) year.

  For example, our prepaid service is totally PAYG (Pay As You Go) with
a minimum of 10ct per 6 months.

  I don't think nospam can come up with a comparable (i.e. no monthly
cost/charge) US prepaid service at "under 5c/min typical".

  BTW, from The Real Bev's post, I understand that in the US 'our' kind
of prepaid *is* available.
