QED is addressable experimentally, but the kinds of experimental scenarios are far removed from everyday physics. QED is also so computationally involved that, even within specialized domains, only highly truncated equations are of any practical use. For these two reasons, QED may be inappropriate for the simple discussions on this newsgroup.
