The OWLS never been measured directly......so you are a lying sack of shit. The observer-independence of the speed of light is firmly determined by a combination of TWLS measurements and isotropy experiments. Though you would DESIRE a OWLS measurement, it is completely unnecessary, given the constraints already obtained from the other measurements. What you DESIRE is not needed. The reason to redefine the meter has nothing to do with proving relativity. A unit standard needs to be reproducible, stable, and with a precision greater than any measurement need. The metal bar in Paris no longer met the requirements for stability and precision of modern day technology, and so a replacement was needed. Again, it does not MATTER that the metal bar is sufficient for everyday uses. Heck, for everyday uses, a wooden meter stick suffices. But that is NOT sufficient for the purposes of a unit standard, which has MUCH higher requirements for reproducibility, stability, and precision. -- Odd Bodkin -- maker of fine toys, tools, tables
