It has to be comprehensible for those who are willing to put in the work to comprehend it. Physicists DO NOT OWE IT TO ANYONE to make their output understandable to non-scientists with no science training. If engineers do not want to use it, fine, don't use it. There's a welder who posts to this group who says that, as far as he's concerned, nobody needs to use Lorentz transformations and length-measuring devices more precise than a tape measure because HE doesn't need them. Keep in mind that what engineers might need to do their work does NOT correspond to what ANYBODY might need to do their work. That's just more engineer hubris to think that engineers speak for humanity for what humanity needs.
