I suspect Richard will not reply to this.  The key reasons Richard does
not join in your religious threads are that this is the wrong time and
place for them (it is a C discussion group - and Richard has too much
respect for the other group members to get involved in such off-topic
threads), and that experience has shown that such threads are utterly
useless.  The do not encourage anyone towards Christianity (quite the
opposite).  They do not encourage off-topic posters to moderate their
behaviour (again, they have the opposite effect).  They do not lead to
anyone learning anything, or gaining a better understanding of other
viewpoints.

I have engaged Rick in religious discussions in the past.  I have even
argued that the occasional off-topic thread is not a problem for a group
like c.l.c.  But I have learned that it is quite useless.  Rick is
apparently totally incurable, and lives in his own world with no regard
for anyone else.

I will not be following up on this (and Rick has promised not to reply
to me).  I strongly encourage Snit, David K, and anyone else who feels
provoked to respond to Rick, that they don't bother.  The threads here
in the past couple of days show that these threads are not useful
discussions, and simply serve to annoy people.
