Yes.  In particular, I mean having "enum {tvoid = 0}; enum {tint = 1};" 
etc., rather than "enum {tvoid, tint,...};".

It makes sense to have separate enum types for separate purposes.  But 
it does not make sense to have individual types for individual constants 
when they are closely related.  Since you care about compile time, it is 
more work for the compiler.  More relevantly, IMHO, it is more work for 
someone reading the code, and you lose features such as the ability to 
declare variables of the enum type, and to use these in the context of 
static error checking.

Now, I realise that this is auto-generated code.  But if it is meant to 
be read and understood by humans, it's lost an opportunity here.  And if 
it not meant to be understood by humans, why bother with these enum 
constants at all - your generator could just put the magic numbers 
directly in the code.

#define's will be faster for the compiler than enums (again, not that I 
personally think that is a good argument).  enums like these are not 
better for the reader than individual #defines - they are arguably worse 
because it is an odd way to write it.  Enums grouped appropriately would 
make more sense to me.

Using that method was a good deal faster than running 100 gcc instances 
from a bash script - it was now almost exactly a second, regardless of 
the use of #include or "extern" for printf.

It's a fairly fast desktop processor (using only one core here).

"batch file" - I see at least part of your problem.  You are using 
Windows, which is a good deal slower at file I/O than Linux.
