A quick search resulted in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_environment It should get you started in your search for the "perfect" DE. Or you can just run a window manager (there are dozens) with menus and a panel or two. Not a true DE, but accomplishes the same thing. I run Openbox with a single LXPanel. Stef
