Extrinsic properties do change. Extrinsic properties are properties where the definitions of the properties themselves specify the relationship between the object and the reference frame or the state of the observer or some procedure. A good example of this is speed. It makes absolutely no sense to say that the speed of an object cannot possibly change in any way just due to the fact that the observer is now in a different state relative to the object. Of COURSE the speed of the object is different, even though no physical interaction with the object occurred to effect that change. Speed is an extrinsic property. Nor does it make sense to say that speed is not a "valid" physical property. Of COURSE it is valid. The kinematics of bodies is one of the core physical descriptors of a system. Overly vague and uncareful comments like "cannot change physically in any way" are so unhelpful that they are essentially wrong, and declaring such things to be True by Decree is also just arrogant and silly. -- Odd Bodkin --- maker of fine toys, tools, tables
