Here, I'll give you an everyday life example of what a momentary rest frame means. Suppose you are entering the highway where the speed limit is 70mph. On the on-ramp you are going 42, but your foot is on the gas and you're speeding up. There are other cars in the next lane over and they are at cruising speed, and there's one car that is behind and to the left that is going 68 mph. Your speed is increasing, now 52 mph, now 54 mph, now 56 mph. Because you are traveling slower, the car behind and to the left is catching up to you. But with respect to you, it is catching up more slowly each second, still going 68 mph while you are going 63 mph, now 64 mph, now 65 mph. As it turns out, the car pulls alongside just as your speed passes through 68 mph. You look out your window, and for this instant, that other car is at rest relative to you. Just for that moment, though, because you are continuing to speed up.... 68 mph, 69 mph, 70 mph, and you pull slowly ahead.
