Peter, I'm going to cut to the chase and tell you the answer of how to 
calculate this in Newtonian physics or GR.

The average velocity v for an eccentric orbit is given by

v = (2*pi*A/T) * [1 - e^2/4 - 3e^4/64 - 5e^6/256 - ...] where e is the 
eccentricity and the number of terms you would include would depend on 
the precision you have in the problem (that is, the precision you have 
in the variables A, T, e).

For the numbers you have given me, the three terms in the series are 
sufficient.

Now, how does your calculation do this?
