So what?

You declare everything as normal pointers and then you can do anything 
you want as it is now.

And if you make a mistake the program will crash.

What I am proposing is an OPTIONAL pointer type (a GC aware pointer) 
that can't be used as freely as normal pointer and thus avoids the most 
common pitfalls.

Sure. You will be able to go on doing that, you just do not use the GC 
pointers!
