You have gc_malloc() IF you write (or use the corresponding header) you will get #define gc_malloc malloc #define free (Or similar). There is no modification at all for the syntax of the language or the library. Besides the stupid cases pointed out by thompson (WHAT IF you write a pointer to a file and then retrieve it later, etc) there are no changes to the software.
