Oh, but they do. What you are saying is equivalent to someone saying 
"Only: north-south distances and east-west distances do not denote the 
same subject."

And the two are both coordinates of events, and they are mixed. There is 
no PHYSICAL distinction between them except for the sign in the metric. 
Your PREJUDICES that they are fundamentally different is just an 
ingrained habit.
