Sounds like you're making things up as you go along.. As two objects get further apart, more energy goes into the gravitational field between them. As the strength of gravity in inverse to the distance squared, it gets weaker with distance so the energy stored reaches a limit, even at infinite distance where it is a maximum. For this energy to be retrieved, the gravitating objects must somehow approach each other and it becomes kinetic energy. If the universe is infinitely expanding, then this can never happen, this energy is forever locked away in the gravitational field. This is high school physics.
