Long before any were available, I was saying I wanted a tablet with an
A4 sized screen to read PDF reports at their normal size.

Apart from watching movies I have zero use for full screen apps; I use
that screen real estate to view more than one thing at a time, e.g. one
or more PDFs that I am making notes from, or programming documentation
alongside a code editor (and in the latter case, data files in editor
windows with the program(s) I'm working on in yet another window).

I bought Pythonista for my iPad last summer but quickly found that to
avoid constant switching from one view to another I needed to view the
documentation on my desktop.  It's great where I can develop e.g. a web
scraper on the desktop and run it on the iPad, but developing on the
iPad itself is just too much hassle, not to mention error prone.

My iPad keyboard came in very handy when I was on holiday last summer,
mainly to keep a diary of what we did on which day, but that was written
in straight text, no special app required.
